Want to stop spam? I sure did! When I first got my email address I was shocked at how much junk mail I received. It seemed like every day I had to delete several hundred emails that were just spam. I decided to do something about it and now I only receive about 2 emails a day.

I realized that I needed to change my mindset and get rid of the clutter. The first step was to find out what all the spam was about. So I went online and did some research. I found out that there are people who will send you emails with links to their websites or product. These are called “spamming” and they can really hurt your reputation if you don't stop them. I also learned that there are people who send you emails for free (aff) products. They are called “scammers”. You can tell who they are because they have no contact information and no website. I learned that I could report these people to the internet service provider and ask them to block their IP addresses from sending me emails.

Stop Spam. Then What?

After I found out how to stop spam, I began to realize that there was another problem with my email account. There were so many emails in my inbox that I didn't know what to do with them. I knew that I needed to find a way to organize my emails so that I could see them and be able to find what I was looking for.

I looked around online for ideas and I found out that there are many different ways to organize your emails. One thing that I found very helpful was to create folders for each person that I communicate with. I use the same system for my emails that I use for my contacts on my phone. I have one folder for business contacts and one folder for friends and family. I use the same system with my email accounts. For example, if I am having a conversation with someone about an idea for a project that I am working on, I will create a folder for that person and add them to the folder. Then when I have finished the conversation I can move the folder to the trash. This is a very simple way to organize your emails.

Then I also found a really helpful tool to use to clean up my email inbox. Combining all these efforts I finally feel like I'm making progress in these areas.
